16-Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek Itinerary for International Travelers
This Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek itinerary is specially designed for international travelers arriving in Nepal. It focuses on gradual acclimatization, cultural exposure, and scenic Himalayan landscapes.
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Visa on arrival available for most nationalities. Transfer to hotel and rest.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Trek Preparation
Visit UNESCO sites: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath. Trek briefing and permit preparation.
Day 3: Kathmandu → Pokhara
25-minute flight or 6–7 hour scenic drive. Overnight near Phewa Lake.
Day 4: Pokhara → Nayapul → Tikhedhunga
Drive to Nayapul and start trekking through villages and terraced fields.
Day 5: Tikhedhunga → Ghorepani
Climb stone steps to Ulleri and continue through rhododendron forests.
Day 6: Poon Hill Sunrise → Tadapani
Early hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) for sunrise views of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri.
Day 7: Tadapani → Chhomrong
Descend through forests and reach the main gateway village to Annapurna Sanctuary.
Day 8: Chhomrong → Bamboo
Steep descent and gradual ascent along Modi Khola.
Day 9: Bamboo → Deurali
Enter alpine terrain with waterfalls and glacial scenery.
Day 10: Deurali → Machapuchare Base Camp (3,700m)
Close views of Machapuchare (Fishtail Mountain).
Day 11: MBC → Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m)
Reach Annapurna Sanctuary surrounded by 7,000–8,000m peaks.
Day 12: ABC → Bamboo
Return trek with relaxed downhill walk.
Day 13: Bamboo → Jhinu Danda
Optional dip in natural hot springs.
Day 14: Jhinu → Nayapul → Pokhara
Trek ends. Drive back to Pokhara.
Day 15: Pokhara → Kathmandu
Return to Kathmandu. Farewell dinner.
Day 16: Final Departure
International departure or onward travel.
